I think I finally found it, the perfect espresso cup…maybe.

After spending what seems like forever searching and trialing many different cups, these fit the bill.

Great in size, weight and quality… and only for the grand price of £6 for 2.

Looks good! Where did you get them from?

One of my favourite Italian cafes serves their coffee in thicker taller cups like this and I love it.

What makes a cup “competition level”?

Someone was right up their own arse to invent that as a phrase!

If that’s a real thing, then I have competition level vegetables in my fridge, as used by top Chefs world wide!

That looks nice, shape and thickness looks like the old Nuova Point Palermo cup. Palermo may have even been a bit thicker than this, one of my favorite of all time! Update: just did a quick perusal of eBay and there is a China-based seller selling these same cups there and listing them as “Nuova point competition” cups so I assume NP makes these. What does the bottom of your cup say? IIRC NP sold several years ago and manufacturing moved to China, so this is very plausible.

Looks really good, the cup is really nice too, where did you get it?

Skip SHEIN, buy authentic Italian thick porcelain espresso cups by ANCAP. They’re only $9 from Clive

Highly recommend the demitasse cups from ACME. Also comes with a saucer option as an add-on. Love mine.

I picked up a set of 4 on Amazon. Nice, thick cups. I can’t post a link, but they’re called Cuisinox espresso cups. I bought them in 2021, use them a lot, and they’re still perfect.

Something is wrong when they don’t name manufacturer.

I would recommend Nuova Point PALERMO, white, 56 ml. Known good quality from Italy. See:

The thicker the cup, the sweeter it gets.

That looks nice but I really prefer a thinner lip. Find that makes for a more pleasant experience whereas these fat boys can feel like you’ve got a saucer in your mouth.

The acme demitasse is similar to this but with a beveled rim.

As is the imp aosta which is perhaps even thicker

Coffeee looks good in this cup, no idea about other competitors though.

I love these type of Italian cups. Can you give us the name ?

Those look nice but for me personally I love double walled espresso cups and glasses in general. I love seeing the crema form when making espresso.

I really think it’s up to personal taste but I would happily use that

  20. Can any super automatic bean to cup produce something on this level?

Vestigial handle. Ain’t nobody fitting a finger in that.

I like Italian ceramic cups like these. It accentuates the “heavy” mouth feel for me, but that’s entirely perceptual.
